Paweł Hendrich’s sound system constitutes a coherent whole, in which particular parameters of a musical work (such as harmony or rhythm) are organised by analogous processes. Each new composition extended the boundaries of the system and created its subsequent layers. The highest layer could not exist in this structure without all the lower levels. In this sense, each subsequent piece by Paweł Hendrich constitutes a meta-form, as it uses the musical language developed in previous compositions. At the first glance, Paweł Hendrich’s dense scores seem to be complex. However, they are combined of simple processes. This simplicity would be visible to us if we could look at this work as at a multidimensional area whose each parameter can be traced separately.
